The special event of the XIV edition of VivaVoce International A Cappella Festival is a double concert with two a cappella groups: in the same evening they will perform in fact Occhi chiusi in mare aperto & Mezzotono!
Occhi chiusi in mare aperto
Very recent vocal group born in 2017 from an idea by Dodo Versino, Occhi chiusi in mare aperto reveals itself to the musical world on the occasion of the Italian a Cappella Summit 2017 in Treviso - convention with vocal groups from all over Italy - obtaining at the first official appearance the Audience Award.
Since then they never stopped: performances at the Quirinetta in Rome, at the VokalFest and in the summer of 2018 the achievement of the Silver Diploma at the Vokal.Total of Graz in the Pop section.
The repertoire deals with pop in all its facets, with a search aimed at deviating from the mainstream using original arrangements for voice that give a personal touch to each song.
Puglia vocal quintet, Mezzotono interprets an authentic mix of genres (pop, jazz, bossa nova, mambo, tango, big band, classical…) with specific original arrangements for the a cappella music.
They can rightly be considered authentic ambassadors of Italian music in the world, having performed not only in Italy, but in some of the biggest theaters of 42 countries on 4 continents: among them Dubai Jazz Festival with James Morrison and Jonathan Butler, 12 tours in China in the biggest theaters of the country, Cairo Opera House, Johor Bahru Jazz Festival hosted by the Sultan of Malaysia, London Jazz Festival, Boston Green Festival in the USA, Jornadas Musicales del Norte in Chile and Argentina, tours in 12 countries of Africa: result the Italian vocal group to have given the largest number of concerts abroad.
Listening to Mezzotono you will have the certainty that with the voices you can really do everything.
